By pipe tobacco we mean a semi-finished or processed and appropriately
tobacco treated so that it can be smoked in the pipe.

Description
In reality it would be more correct to speak of pipe shredded as for ready use most
part of the products is composed and available in a blend of tobaccos skilfully blended by
"blenders" who mix different types of tobacco together to obtain the shredded with
desired peculiarities.
The main tobaccos used, in order to obtain the basis for the preparation of pipe shredded,
are essentially seven: Virginia | Burley | Kentucky | Eastern | Latakia | perish | Cavendish
The latter deserves a separate note as it is not really a tobacco but rather
a treatment, to which different tobaccos can be subjected, which has become appreciated over time,
so much so that it is often indispensable in the creation of blends for pipe chops.
Another distinction that must be made between pipe tobaccos is that between: aromatic and flavoured.
The definition pipe tobacco is accepted for simplification and when a finished product is ready
to use it is composed of a single variety of tobacco not mixed with others. (source Wikipedia)
