"Veneto boasts a rice growing tradition dating back to the sixteenth century, with approximately 3,050 hectares under cultivation concentrated mainly in the Verona area: at Isola della Scala the renowned Riso Nano Vialone Veronese IGP is produced, while other fine productions are found at Grumolo delle Abbadesse and in the Venetian areas, all united by the use of the precious spring-fed waters known as acque di risorgiva."
